ART NOW is an online-centric program of art events and exhibitions, showcasing artists that represent artistic nowness. The initiative was born from the necessity to respond to the dynamics that shape our times and capture emerging trends and tendencies.
The program launched in November 2021and runs in association with artAZ.
So far it has presented the following actions:
1. Itsmi – Familiar Strangers, 2 December 2021 – 2 February 2022.
Solo exhibition by Austrian-Greek artist Itsmi featuring paintings, drawings and small sculptures created during the pandemic. The body of work in question explored the artist’s mood swings, in turn signs of the times on their own right.
2. ART LOVER – Works from the AK Collection, Opened 2 February 2022.
An exhibition featuring select work from my personal art collection, opening for the first time to the public. This exhibition is part of a series and will stay on permanent display.
3. Kalliopi Kouklinou – The Nudes, 2 March – 2 April 2022.
Solo exhibition by Greek artist Kalliopi Kouklinou featuring drawings on paper. Revolving around the naked figure, the works on show are explorations of the body as a vessel to contain the complex human nature and a vehicle to navigate the journey of life.
4. Olya Yatsenko – The Song of a Starry Sky, 2 March 2022 – until the Ukrainian invasion stops.
Solo exhibition by Ukrainian artist Olya Yatsenko. The exhibition was on show in Kyiv at the time of the Russian invasion. It has been enriched with more works and transferred online in a symbolic gesture of solidarity and to highlight the uniting power of art. The exhibition is a message of peace, love and unity.
5. The Invasion of The Army of Love, 2 April – 15 May 2022
A visual manifesto of love, hope and rebirth. Alexandra Kollaros and Ble Zebra, aka. museologist – ceramist Katerina Tsqaligopoulou, orchestrate an attack of positivity and celebrate new beginnings – actual and metaphorical – through a collection of ceramics, photographs and words of soft wisdom.
