Welcome to my universe.
I am Alexandra Kollaros, an arts professional, author and urban explorer. I was born in Athens, Greece, studied in London and Florence and live & work across the world.
I go by the moniker “The Real Queen of Stuff”.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME:
I love art and it made sense to explore it from every angle. I have worn many different hats: dealer, consultant, gallerist, curator, agent, photographer, writer, collector.
I have been an artist all along.
I am the founding director of the “Artist’s Art Fair”, the first Art Fair in Greece working directly with artists.
I am the co-founder of artAZ (www.artaz.gr), a cross-cultural platform for the promotion of Contemporary Art and the first online art platform in Greece.
I have co-founded “9” Gallery (2014), a space for the promotion of cultural activity in Athens.
In the 90s I founded AKD Studio – a hub for Contemporary Art & Design, focusing on the production and promotion of art, product & interior design through curated events, projects and collaborations with international designers. Unique in its kind in Greece, it was the first to introduce designers such as Tom Dixon and Inflate to the market.
I have created “Alexandra Prints”, my signature brand of furnishing fabrics, hand-printed in the UK. My personal designs also include furniture & interiors’ staples.
I have presented my own art in numerous group & solo exhibitions and art projects and have been the honorary artist of the 13th Textilia – Casa Tessile at the Thessaloniki International Fair. You can find my work in galleries, shops, exhibition spaces and collections around the world.
For the past 25 years I have been curating and producing exhibitions and art events and consulting on Art Projects & ventures internationally. I offer Art Advisory & Collection Building services and coach artists & art businesses to help them reach their maximum potential, fast.
In 2020, together with fellow artist Dimitris Liossis, we launched Heart Factory – an on-going art project aiming to offer abundant love to the world.
During the first wave of the covid-19 pandemic I launched the “I Support Greek Artists” campaign to actively support Greek artists during these unprecedented global circumstances.
Apart from the literature I create for artists, I contribute articles and features to publications and media outlets (titles include Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, Status, Diners Magazine, Esquire, among others) and have served as the Arts Editor of the yupi.gr portal.
I am the author of “Greek Art from A to Z” (Key Books, October 2018), a Public best seller. The book is also illustrated by me.
I am a Tedx speaker.
Giving back to society is one of my key values. I have founded two Art-Charity Campaigns: “Girl Power”, in association with the Hellenic Cancer Society, to aid the battle against breast cancer, and “SURPRISE”, to raise awareness and funds about major social issues worldwide. More than 2000 international artists have collaborated in these projects.
I am blessed to be working with a wide network of exceptional professionals – this is my extended family that renders everything possible.
I believe art belongs to everyone and I believe in its power to positively transform our lives. My quest is to make it accessible to all.
Infusing art into daily life and elevating everyday living into an art form is an on-going pursuit. We only have one life and I am passionate about discovering ways to make the best of it, for you and me.
I am glad you are here – don’t hesitate to contact me if I can do something for you.
